My Story
To be quite frank, the idea of starting a blog was mainly a fight against procrastination. In my childhood and teenage years, I used to write stories, but as adulthood came, that sadly dwindled away. Thankfully, I have a good job that I enjoy in business, however my creative side needs an outlet. For months, the road paved with good intentions, did not deliver and the daily writing was absent. However, it dawned on me that deadlines have always been far more motivating and it occurred to me to start a blog to talk about books, gardens and baking.
I call the Sierra Foothills in California home, but have been a life long Anglophile and lover of a good English mystery. Mysteries were my first reading love, especially Agatha Christie. Now my tastes run to fiction and historical non-fiction of almost any stripe. A good storyteller that makes the characters, history and place come alive are all I need.
Also, I am a fervent supporter of libraries, as they are vital hubs of the community and gateways to adventure and knowledge. I have been active with our local Friends of the Library and love working at book sales and really is there anything better with coming home with an assortment of books, some familiar and some that are new friends you have yet to meet?
